NBC Sports
about.
GolfNow’s Golf365 platform helps golf course operators manage their tee times, scheduling, and promotions. To support its growth and reduce design + dev inconsistencies, the team needed a dedicated design system.
I led the creation of a custom design system tailored to the platform’s real-world workflows and visual identity. Since launch, the system has been adopted across other NBC Sports teams — expanding its impact beyond Golf365.
challenge.
Inconsistency Across Screens, Teams, and Devices
The Golf365 product team was scaling fast — and so were the design inconsistencies. Components were duplicated, screens lacked cohesion, and dev handoff required constant rework. Golf course operators also needed a more intuitive, consistent admin experience.
The ask: build a flexible design system that could serve Golf365 and eventually extend to other NBC Sports digital teams.
system strategy.
Atomic Structure, Built for Real Use
I created a modular system using atomic design principles — focusing on scalability, accessibility, and real-world use cases from Golf365. The system included:
Foundations (colors, spacing, type, grid)
Interactive components (buttons, cards, alerts)
Patterns for booking flows, inventory management, and reporting
Documentation built directly in Figma for easier dev collaboration
I worked closely with the design team to stress-test implementation and reduce friction in handoff.

results.
Since its release, the Golf365 design system has been duplicated and adapted by other NBC Sports teams. What started as a one-product solution became a cross-team framework — speeding up design cycles and aligning teams around a shared foundation.
Wins:
Reduced duplicate components by 70%
Faster screen builds using reusable layouts
Design system adopted by 3+ internal teams after launch
